Swallows and Amazons cast dazzle audience 16.06.17

This week girls in years 7 – 9 have been having a fantastic time performing in the Lower School Production of Swallows & Amazons. Based on the much loved book by Arthur Ransome, Swallows & Amazons is an action packed musical adventure for the whole family. A story of an idyllic era, of endless summer evenings and the beauty of youthful imagination! Audiences followed Captain John and his able crew as they set sail to Wildcat Island on an exotic adventure to encounter savages, capture dastardly pirates and defeat mortal enemies. Students performed in a matinee performance to local Primary Schools on Thursday 15th June whom thoroughly enjoyed the performance and on the evening of Thursday 15th June and Friday 16th June to a full house of friends and family. We have had lots of lovely feedback from staff and parents alike who have commented of the outstanding performances by all students involved. Audiences enjoyed an outstanding performance by Stella as Titty, the imaginative dreamer of the Swallows crew. Dulcie’s performance as Nancy of the Amazons was stand out and Annabelle played a fantastically funny interpretation of chatterbox Nancy. Alice sang fantastically well as a pilfering pirate and Georgina’s sensible Susan kept all of the cast in check. Thomasin, Megan, Sara, Grace, Libby, Etty, Annabel, Esme & Amelia brought joy and fun to the chorus and played a number of roles from a cormorant to a houseboat. A big well done to everyone involved in the production, the commitment and energy that they brought to the performances were fantastic.
