National Science and Engineering Week 28.04.14

As part of the National Science and Engineering Week, the Society of Biology competition took place on Saturday 22nd March at Leicester University. We had 4 girls enter the senior competition with essays and podcasts on a very diverse range of topics. We also had 2 poster entries in the junior section; one focusing on genetic engineering and one looking at DNA. The theme this year was ‘science in the future’ and all the girls received a rigorous assessment by a panel of judges. The girls were given very positive feedback about the standard of their work and one of the girls in the senior competition received a highly recommended award for her essay on terraforming.
