LHS Cricket Team 08.07.13

The newly formed Loughborough High School cricket team has finished the season unbeaten following a series of friendly matches. The team consisting of students from KS3 has recorded several convincing victories including a 60 run win over Leicester Grammar school. The team has also given some students the opportunity to gain leadership experience by allowing students the chance to captain the team. When given the opportunity both Fran Brannam and Avani Marudkar excelled in the role.  In the most recent game, Ella Needham and Beth Raynor formed a formidable batting partnership and Katy Gradon showed her skill with the ball by taking 3 wickets in the final over of the match. Hattie Barnes, Ella Williams, Kirat Aulakh, Siobhan Bahl and Abi Burton also made valuable contributions with both bat and ball. The lunchtime training sessions have attracted huge interest with students from years 7-10 all keen to play and more importantly enjoy the game.
