LHS are Team Leicestershire Schools netball champions! 22.04.16

Both the Loughborough High School under 16 and under 13 netball teams qualified for the ‘Team Leicestershire’ schools’ netball final, which was hosted at De Montfort University in front of 500 spectators on the evening of 21st April.

10 qualifying area teams competed at this County Final to become the 2015/16 Champions!  ‘Team Leicestershire’ is the new umbrella association for all traditional competitive school sport in secondary schools across Leicestershire, Leicester City and Rutland.

The LHS under 13 team were in the final against Oakham School; the girls took to the court nervous in front of the crowd. They soon settled to find their rhythm and played some excellent netball to take a convincing win 16-2.

The under 16 match was a showcase game as the LHS team had already beaten Uppingham School to reach the national finals. The girls took to the court determined to prove that they were the best team to have gone through to the National Schools finals. The under 16s thrived on playing for the crowd and took their game up another gear, not allowing Uppingham to find any form. The Loughborough girls won 18 – 3.

It was an amazing night of netball in which both the under 13 and under 16 teams were successful winners and crowned ‘Team Leicestershire’ schools’ netball champions.

Congratulations to both teams!
