Cross Country County Schools’ Championships 09.02.18

Congratulations to the LHS cross country team for their performances at Ratcliffe College on Saturday 3rd February in very bleak and rainy conditions.

The year 7 girls ran well, with Sophie Dunbobbin retaining her unbeaten record this year and took the county gold to add to their League title.

Hannah Seager in year 12 finished a strong 4th in the senior event an will go onto represent Leicestershire at the English Schools Championships on Saturday 17th March in Leeds.

Indie King continued her winning steak with another strong run to become Junior County Champion.

The Junior Team of Indie, Charlotte Carp, Alice Walton and Bethany Potter retained their county title with an excellent team effort, scoring 43 points with the second team, finishing with over a hundred points.

Both Indie and Alice have also been selected to compete for Leicestershire in the Nationals in March.

On Wednesday 7th February, the team travelled to  Coventry to compete in the prodigious King Henry VIII Relays,. The competition is in its 44th year and attracts teams from all over the country. The team raced well against many older teams in what was a very competitive race, finishing 8th with this years medal winners coming from Sevenoaks, Millfield and Penrith.

Our team of Hannah Seager, Indie King, Bethany Potter and Alice Walton were a relatively young tam in what is unofficially the National Independent School’s under 19 Relay Championships.
