Physical Education

The PE department offers a range of activities for all abilities ranging from volleyball and football to netball and athletics. The school has an enviable record of success in county, regional and national sporting competitions and encourages positive attitudes towards participation in sport. There is an extensive fixture list throughout the year and pupils of all abilities are given many opportunities to participate in inter and intra school competitions. As part of the Wednesday afternoon recreation programme, sixth form students can participate in a variety of activities including swimming, circuit training, gym, pilates, indoor rock climbing, badminton, golf, rounders, squash, and tennis.

There is also the opportunity for those who wish to take the Sports Leadership Level 1 and 2 Award and the Level 3 Qualification. This award also helps the department to develop links with local clubs and schools to promote the concept of “sport for all”.
