Enterprise Education
Enterprise education is the development of the capability to deal with change and uncertainty positively through encouraging innovation and risk management skills. It is supported by the teaching of financial awareness. In PSHCE modules which are tailored to each year group. Girls from Year 7 to Year 13 learn about the commercial world and tackle relevant problems which involve an element of risk and uncertain outcomes. Throughout the school year, they are also given the opportunity to participate in business and citizenship simulations. Last year this included a ‘share dealing’challenge and a national schools’marketing competition.There is the opportunity to take Financial Studies qualifications. Pupils are offered the opportunity to gain a GCSE equivalent qualification in Personal Finance and an A Level equivalent in Financial Studies. These innovative courses are studied and examined entirely using online materials. There are no lessons; pupils engage in independent learning supported by weekly tutorials in addition to their regular timetable. The courses broaden their real world experience and can link directly to careers in Banking and Financial Services.
