Drama and Theatre Studies
All pupils study drama up to the end of Year 8 and may continue it as an option in Year 9. Use is made of the new drama facilities and there are several clubs for pupils in this age range to attend which culminate in public performances. Drama is taught as a discreet subject in year 7 and 8 where the girls are exposed to a range of styles and devises such as mask. There are several clubs for pupils in this age range to attend which culminate in a public performance. In year 9, Drama is a part of the options and is taught as a triple Lesson throughout the year allowing the pupils to extend their appreciation of the subject. Drama is offered at GCSE level and at A level. These courses include the exploration of play texts, the performing of plays and the analysis of live theatre. Every year there are a number of extracurricular productions with Loughborough Grammar School as well as inschool opportunities.
