Art and Design
All pupils study art and textiles up to the end of Year 8 and may continue it as an option in Year 9. Pupils are encouraged to learn new skills, experiment and develop their individual creativity. There is an emphasis on visual exploration, through drawing, photography, ICT and cultural research. Both art and textile options can be taken at GCSE and A level. A craft club for juniors is held at lunch times, once a week. Students sit GCSE and AS/A2 fine art and textiles with the OCR examination board. Our students gain degree places and some then go on to follow successful careers in art and design. Workshops, gallery and drawing trips are organised for pupils who continue the subject to exam level
