Application Process

All prospective pupils and their parents are encouraged to visit the school on Open Morning (usually the first Saturday in October). Families are welcome to tour the school at other times by arrangement and appointments with the Headmistress are always available on request. The parents of applicants are invited to meet the Head during the autumn preceding the examination if they have not already done so. Applications to sit the entrance examination should be sent to the Registrar by the end of the autumn term but it should be noted that girls wishing to be considered for a music scholarship award must submit their music scholarship application to the Director of the LES Music School by the end of November. This is in addition to the application to sit the academic entrance examination. No separate application is required to be considered for an academic scholarship.

The main entry to the school is at 11+ into Year 7. A small number of places is also available in Years 8, 9 and 10 and in the sixth form.
